Hi, nice to meet you, welcome to my channel!

About Me

I am an optimistic man who always likes to try creative ideas to get things done. In the more recent years, I have worked in both Startup (KLOOK) & big companies (Lazada Group), I have not only acquired more insights into consumer requests and thoughts, but also know how to run a minimum value product in a fast experiment way.

Besides, I believe opening eyesight for an product manger is really important, till now I have been to over 30+ countries/ area, by traveling to different countries I find that the internet products are getting more and more popular in most of regions, it’s really the perfect timing for us to make some differences in the world.

Hobbies:

  • Playing Basketball, Reading, Travel, Cooking (junior level), Hiking, Diving, Play Guitar (junior level)…

Work Experiences

Lazada Group ( SEA biggest e-commerce platform)

Role: Sr. Growth Product Manager

  • New user acquisition Retention
  • Customer Lifecycle Management
  • Social Interaction

What I learned as a product manager in Lazada?

  • Do 2 things at one time, You need to work as both product manager and operator at the same time, which means you not only need to deliver the product features, but also need to responsible your product KPI hit the target.
  • Ownership Spirit, You need to always look after your feature like your kid, if you don’t fight the resources for it, it will be hard to deliver on time, also tech / traffics / marketing team will barely care about your product roadmap, unless your product can speak for you.
  • Build up good relationship with key stakeholders, If you really want your product to stand out at the very beginning, you need to get what you needed ready, but don’t count on your boss to do it for you, (In Alibaba) upper manager want to see how much influences you can bring to others.

Overall, it’s really a great experiences working here, I do wish Lazada can win the final battle of SEA online retail war.

KLOOK Travel (Startup, Online self-Travel booking platform)

Role: Product Manager

  • Pre-Booking Flow
  • Search Function & Search Result Page
  • Product Recommendation
  • User Referral Approaches

What I learned as a product manager in KLOOK?

  • Good user experience skill, as you need to develop a product which need to be greatly inspire and motive user to have impulse to the destination, and make orders for those attraction tickets.
  • Be nice to your co-workers (especially Tech), there’s a monthly routine for each agile iteration, tech will gather up together to discuss their opinions or issues they met in the feature develop period, PM is easy to be challenged every time. Therefore, as a qualified PM you better manager your product priority wisely, and tradeoff some unimportant features in case of limited times.
  • Use Data / Research results to speak, when making a decision about the product details, Team leader and your boss will challenge you why you make the product this way, instead of the same function like competitors have, in this case you need to show your deep dive user research data (quantitative / qualitative) to get them aligned.
  • Don’t be afraid to undertake more works, Hi Buddy, you are in a startup company (Although now klook has D+ already), always prepare to embrace the change.

Overall, I am glad that I can have to chance to witness a startup growing from A round to D round, although the process is full of uncertainty, but it did let me know quite a lot of product skills.
